Phoenix 100 Year Flood

Cell Phone Dump from our dark and epic morning!

"This will be the flood you tell your grand kids about" is the news we awoke to. 

We checked and re-confirmed but Mesa schools were indeed open- despite the hysteria and closing of many businesses and schools.

Our local grocery store's roof collapsed due to rain. 

We laugh about how people go nuts when the desert gets precipitation. But this one really is something to see. 

And while our yard is holding up, our kitchen skylight is not faring so well. 

We make lemonade with our lemons- both boys grabbed drywall and paint falling to the floor- and gathered it for "show n share" at school :)

Jr High parking lot was pretty quiet and buses running late- but we made it. 

The parking lot looked more like a lake. I wished they would have cancelled school. I wanted to keep them home but we need our absences saved for fun trips. 

And so here I sit. Cozied up with the sound of pouring rain, the news & washing machine humming behind me, working on my current photo session.

...my iced coffee and pumpkin candle make this morning complete.

A combination that can't be beat.
