"Snowball" fight from a cool "frozen" themed gift from our Rost family in MT. Definitely a hit for these az kids!!
I hosted dinner at 2- we had a fair amount of burned food but mostly laughs and great memories.
Absolutely love my parents living here for the winter!
My fave tradition of all time for Christmas Eve: the candlelight service.
I remember the feeling of Christmas peace & joy growing up and attending lil Lutheran church in Baker with my family.
The church lit up with candles, the snow crunching under our feet, the feeling that all is well in our world.
We arrived home to open our gifts with cousins and grandparents.
You could cut the excitement with a knife!
Our Wagendorf cousins are also in town and we are so thrilled!
Soon kiddos were tucked in, one by one.
Except one lil darling Kayli.
****My how the tides are turning!
My (nearly) teen made me take my hair down, put on a cap & lipgloss..and do a lil "photo shoot". She was directing quite well. After a long day of Christmas prep, I almost said nah. But I figured I should enjoy the fact that my daughter actually wants me in her photos, ha!
Kayli then helped me prepare for Cmas morning and we cleaned, organized and worked until almost 1 AM. I tucked her in that eve (morning) and her words to me were "your greatness has been exalted" haha!
She said she had no idea how much work goes on behind the scenes for holidays. "Is it ALWAYS like this"?

Which is how I grew up too. Clueless that behind those smiling & cheery moms, aunts & grandmas in our family there was some sleep deprivation and tons of work, ha! I am so thankful for my amazing family - ladies and men- over all these years and generations.
Very blessed. Very grateful.
Merry Christmas!
